Healing modalities we use in 1:1 sessions
These are the core methods, trainings & lineages that I draw upon in my style as a practitioner, and that you can learn how to use as a tool a client.
-
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-based therapeutic approach designed to heal trauma by releasing stored stress in the nervous system. In sessions, we focus on gently tracking sensations in the body, helping you safely process stuck patterns of fight, flight, or freeze. This method empowers your body to return to a natural state of balance, leading to lasting emotional and physical healing.
Benefits:
Release chronic tension
Reduce anxiety and overwhelm
Restore your body’s natural ability to heal
I have completed advanced SE training and bring over 30 years of experience as a client of SE to my work as a practitioner. (yes 30! - I began when I was a child)
-
What is Trauma-Sensitive Yoga?
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga is a gentle, body-centered practice designed to help you reconnect with your body in a safe, empowering way. TCTSY is the first yoga-based empirically validated, clinical intervention for complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This approach honors your body's boundaries, focusing on movement, breath, and awareness to support healing from trauma. Unlike traditional yoga, it’s carefully adapted to avoid triggering or overwhelming sensations.
Benefits:
Rebuild trust with your body
Calm the nervous system
Develop a deeper sense of safety and self-awareness
In 2014, I became California’s first certified trauma-sensitive yoga teacher (credentialed through the Trauma Center) and I have been guiding clients through this practice for over a decade.
-
The ReBloom Coaching Method is a trauma-informed, nature-based coaching approach designed to help you reclaim your wholeness, creativity, and resilience. This method blends somatic practices with mythic, nature-inspired archetypes to guide you through personal healing and growth, empowering you to bloom into your fullest expression.
Benefits:
Restore your sense of purpose and vitality
Cultivate resilience through body and nature-based practices
Reconnect with your natural cycles and rhythms
As a certified ReBloom coach, I was on the teaching team as a teacher and supervisor for the ReBloom coach training, an advanced professional training for coaches.
-
Depth Psychology explores the unconscious mind to uncover hidden patterns, emotions, and traumas that shape our thoughts and behaviors. By working with dreams, symbols, and personal narratives, Depth Psychology helps you tap into the deeper layers of your psyche, leading to meaningful self-discovery and healing.
Benefits:
Gain insight into unconscious patterns
Integrate past experiences for deeper personal growth
Develop a richer sense of self-awareness
I completed a year of graduate studies in Depth Psychology at Sonoma State University, bringing these tools into my work with clients.
-
Expressive Arts uses creative processes like painting, movement, and writing to access deep layers of emotion and intuition. Through spontaneous, non-judgmental creation, you can tap into your inner wisdom and explore healing in a creative, liberating way. Intuitive painting is a core element, guiding you to release perfectionism and embrace self-expression.
Benefits:
Unlock creativity and self-expression
Process emotions through art
Connect with your inner wisdom
In 2014, I completed a year-long expressive arts facilitation training with Chris Zydel, founder of Creative Juices Arts, with a focus on intuitive painting.
What’s included in 1:1 Somatic Sessions?
Have you ever been in therapy and felt lost or unsure about what was happening? Or maybe you’ve been going to sessions for a while but can’t quite see the progress you’ve made? Trauma healing can be messy—like “time traveling” to revisit the past—so having a clear structure in place can provide much-needed support for your nervous system. With this structure, you can relax into the healing process without feeling overwhelmed.
Drawing on my background as an archetypal post-traumatic growth coach, I offer a roadmap that provides clarity and direction—something not often available in traditional therapy.
With clear guidelines, you can soften into the healing process without feeling overwhelmed.
Here’s a map of what to expect beyond the typical weekly sessions:
In-depth Intake Session: We’ll dive deep into what brought you here, where you are now, and where you want to go. This session lays the foundation for our work together.
Personalized Program Blueprint: After the intake, I’ll create a unique plan tailored to you. This document outlines your healing objectives, helping you stay clear and grounded on your journey.
Blueprint Review Session: We’ll go over your Program Blueprint together to ensure we’re aligned on your goals and the reasons behind this work.
Regular 1:1 Sessions: We’ll meet weekly or bi-weekly (with a minimum 6-month commitment). This ongoing support often extends long-term, continuing for years if it’s a good fit.
Tailored Practices & Follow-up Support: After each session, you’ll receive personally designed practices and follow-up emails to keep you grounded and progressing between our meetings.
Session Tracking Document: I’ll maintain a document summarizing each session’s key topics and practice suggestions. This serves as a quick reference for your healing journey and becomes a library of the somatic practices you learn over time.
Quarterly Check-ins: Every 3 months or so, we’ll revisit your “healing blueprint,” celebrating your wins, reflecting on progress, and adjusting as needed. This structured reflection helps you see your growth and clarify what’s next, so that you can be in consent with the process every step of the way.
The Process
✨Ongoing somatic, therapeutic, transformational support✨
Trauma heals best when it is met with consistency and care in a field of presence where trust has time to grow. I tend to work with people for 6 months at minimum. Many choose to extend for longer, and some continue the sessions over the course of many years, however 6 months is a wonderful time frame to begin with and to see some real transformative change.
Here is the flow of events that you can expect when you sign up for somatic coaching.
01
Feeler Call :
I care deeply that you get the best-fit care for where you are in your life, right now. I also care deeply that the people who sign up for this program are right-fit clients for me. That’s why we start with a low-pressure 30-minute feeler call. You’ll be invited to share what interests you about somatic coaching and to ask all the questions you have.
02
Enrollment :
If it feels like a good match for both of us, I will send you a contract to review. You can decide on your monthly payment plan based on the number of sessions you want per month, and enroll in a plan that works for you. Once the logistics are complete, you can begin scheduling your sessions. Everything is automated for ease & convenience.
03
Intake Session :
This process is the foundation upon which your unique journey will be held in this powerful container. Prior to the call you will be invited to answer questions about your your current hopes, dreams and goals as well as roadblocks, traumas and challenges. Our intake session will be an opportunity for you to share your story (as much as you’d like) and what’s most important in your life right now. This will help us identify your nervous system patterns & what needs to shift.
04
Blueprint Session:
During the Program Blueprint session, we will co-create your unique program blueprint - a document that will serve as a magical map to guide our work together. The program will outline the specific developmental muscles that would be in service to you shifting and growing into a new way of being–a way that can experience resilience and greater capacity in the face of challenge and difficulty. We revisit the Blueprint as a north star or guiding light throughout your program to celebrate your progress, wins and milestones.
05
Ongoing Sessions :
We will continue to meet for 75-minute sessions in which we will work in a titrated, do-able way to cultivate embodied connections, habits and practices that support you to fundamentally shift your physiology away from emergency and towards increased resource and ease. These sessions may include embodied movement practice, creative explorations and somatic trauma resolution. You can choose to meet weekly or biweekly. Each session is collaborative, consensual and unique to you!
06
Celebration Session :
At some point, you may feel like your work is complete. By the end of working together, folks typically reach outcomes that felt impossible at the beginning . Dedicated practice, paired with accountability and attuned 1-1 connection predictably create miracles. On our final call, we will review your developmental objectives from your Blueprint document, celebrate your wins and co-create a beautiful closing ritual to complete the container. It’s time for you to rejoice in your new way of being! For long term clients, we check-in every 6 months or so to re-evaluate & upgrade your program objectives.
"Before working with Kelsey, I struggled with anxiety and freeze states from emotional trauma. Now, I feel more empowered in my embodied safety, I trust myself more, and I am able to take aligned actions with less anxiety and more self-validation."

The details:
Somatic coaching is an ongoing therapeutic relationship, requiring a minimum commitment of six months, often extending longer.
How it works: We meet for 75-minute sessions, either weekly or bi-weekly. I recommend weekly sessions to build momentum, especially in the early stages, so you experience consistent progress and deeper shifts.
Scheduling: You’ll reserve a dedicated day and time (e.g., Tuesdays at noon) on an ongoing basis. This steady rhythm builds trust and deepens the work. Sessions can be rescheduled within the same week (space permitting) and include 4 complimentary cancellations per year. While I don’t offer therapeutic email or phone support, I’m available for rescheduling or sharing resources.
Location: Sessions are available on Zoom or in-person at my Oakland office.
Session Rates: My standard rate is $225 per session, with a sliding scale of $185-$225 to ensure accessibility. This includes 15 minutes of personalized follow-up and access to a private resource library. Payments are automatically processed via the card on file after each session for ease.
Personalized Support: After each session, I’ll send you personalized follow-up notes and access to resources that are specifically tailored to help you continue integrating the work into your daily life.
Somatic Trauma Resolution: While not a replacement for psychotherapy, somatic trauma resolution is a powerful complement to clinical care, particularly for managing CPTSD. In our intake, we’ll clarify what additional support may benefit you.
Next steps in working together:
The first step is a free 30-minute consultation call, where we’ll explore your needs, answer questions, and ensure we’re a good fit.
What Clients Are Saying:
“Through our 1-1 sessions, I learned to honor the true needs of my body and soul. I learned to expand into feeling my capacity, freedom, heart, and clarity in an embodied way.”
- 1:1 client
“As a master coach myself, I’m VERY picky on who I work with, and highly recommend Kelsey! I left our sessions feeling inspired, grounded, and soooooo good in my body.
I came to Kelsey at a trying time in my life, after experiencing much loss and unexpected family crises. As a busy mom, with a busy coaching business, there was so much on my plate and I wanted more support in holding everything.
My sessions with Kelsey helped me SLOW down, drop into the wisdom of my body, and give my nervous system exactly what it was craving.
Her warm and caring presence made me feel very held and I knew her capable hands could handle whatever I was bringing to the session.
If you’re looking to feel more centered, grounded, and expand your resilience in times of stress, reach out to Kelsey.”
- Amanda Testa
“My impulse is to go hard on my body and similar with my body care. I’m always going after that deep deep tissue. But there are other ways to heal. With soft touch, breathing, and attention, Kelsey helped me relieve tension in a gentler way. And she held such caring space for the memories and feelings caught in my body. I leave feeling lighter and more spacious. An embodied lesson in the power of soft, gentle attention to heal.” - William
I am more aware of how things effect me at the body level which helps me set aligned boundaries.
This coaching has forever changed my life. Kelsey has an ability to meet me where I am at and know which way to guide me. She knows when we have done enough and when we can push a little further. She is very attuned to me and my body and does an excellent job at knowing what is just right for me in each session.
I was struggling with fully letting go of the emotional trauma I had experienced 10 years ago & hoping to find closure and release. Nothing had actually helped me complete the trauma this person had caused. Coaching helped me uncover realizations about myself that never would have come up if I wasn't doing this work. I felt neutral and very at peace when engaging with what used to be a trigger and that was an amazing feeling.
I would recommend this 1:1 coaching program to everyone and anyone. This program will change your life for the better in ways you could have never expected.” - Taylor
"I have learned how to tap into the wisdom of my body in such a deep and profound way.
Kelsey has taught me and supported me in deepening my capacity to regulate my nervous system by attuning to the sensations in my body and working with these to tap into my intuition, explore challenges, resolve old emotional wounds, and heal my nervous system.
In my sessions with Kelsey I am met with a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental guide. I feel seen by Kelsey in my most natural essence which creates a beautiful container of safety from which to somatically explore what it is that needs tending to.
Through working with Kelsey, I now have body-based strategies that feel very intuitive and accessible to draw upon, especially when I feel emotionally triggered, so that I can bring my nervous system back to regulation.
As a coach myself, I am so grateful to have Kelsey’s support. Kelsey is a highly skilled and knowledgeable somatic coach who comes with my highest recommendation!” -Adrienne Partridge, Ph.D.
If you are looking for a somatic, trauma-informed practitioner to help you transform long-held patterns of stress and trauma so that you can experience more peace, capacity & possibility, you are in the right place.
