Hi, I’m Kelsey Maeve, Somatic Coach & Embodiment Facilitator.
My life’s work is composting pain into fertile soil.
I love helping folks alchemize difficult emotions & expand into their heart’s true medicine.
If you are seeking mentorship, guidance and body centered care on your post traumatic growth journey, you are in the right place.
As a certified post traumatic growth coach, educator and trauma informed embodiment facilitator, I have been supporting folks to heal trauma through their bodies for over a decade.
Through group programs, facilitation & 1:1 coaching, I support magical, creative women to rewire old trauma patterns and shamelessly embody their brilliance and leadership in the world.
Over the years, I have come to believe that embodiment is the “predictable miracle” of trauma resolution.
I believe that…
Trauma is not a life-sentence
The body is the most efficient portal to resolving trauma
healthy change is possible with small do-able steps
When we honor our limitations, we expand our capacity
Our bodies are an integral component of trauma healing
Our personal and collective healing are intimately bound up & both are so important
Believe it or not, embodiment hasn’t always come easy to me.
I am actually super heady (gemini moon) and ambitious (Aries sun) and can have a suuuuper hard time slowing down. My embodiment practice has helped me to temper my impulse to go go go and to get into a more healthy rhythm.
The practices I facilitate stem partially from my training, and also partially from what I found was missing when I was seeking support as a survivor. I often create offers based on what I most deeply yearned for myself.
As a trauma survivor myself, I’ve learned about post traumatic growth through personal experience.
I know the pain that life in a body can bring. I have lived with challenging trauma imprints stemming from sexual violation, developmental trauma & institutional harm.
Spending years investing in my own ongoing somatic coaching & therapy has greatly reduced my experience of panic attacks, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, toxic shame and chronic illness. I know it works!
My lived experience of healing informs the work I do as a coach, teacher & mentor.

My background & positionally
I’m a white, queer, cis, femme living in a semi-able body with complex trauma. I have Irish & Swedish ancestry and am the descendant of settlers in the colonial U.S. I committed to un-learning the systems of oppression and harm that I’ve inherited co-creating loving cultures and communities of deeply rooted care, trust and interdependence. I believe that personal & collective healing are intricately bound up and that both are much needed in our world today.
I was raised in a communal home in Berkeley, California by therapists, artists & astrologers where I was born at home into a literal singing circle!
To this day I have a community heart & can’t get enough singing, circling or communing around the fire with creative, mystical souls.
My godmother says I’m “living into my lineage” as a somatic practitioner. And I’d say I’m living into my lineage as someone questioning norms and co-evolving the field of trauma healing with my beloved community, clients, colleagues & mentors.
Lineages of Practice
I am so grateful for my teachers & the wisdom traditions that have shaped me as a somatic practitioner. The main methodologies that inform my coaching work with clients are Somatic Experiencing + ReBloom Coaching, however, I am shaped by everything I have studied & practice, and would like to honor & acknowledge my teachers & lineages that animate my work.
Professional Certifications & Mentors:
Certified ReBloom Coach (2020) - I completed the 14-month training in the ReBloom Method for Personal & Collective Post Traumatic Growth with Racheal Maddox twice, and became a member of the ReBloom “hive” aka teaching team where I served as a guest teacher & supervisor in the advanced training program for coaches.
Somatic Experiencing Student (2019) - I have been a client of Somatic Experiencing for over 30 years (!!!) and this body based trauma healing method, developed by Peter Levine, has become a deeply engrained part of who I am. I have completed the 3-years of training at the Advanced level & am completing my certification homework currently.
Graduate studies in Depth Psychology (2016) - I completed one year of graduate studies in Depth Psychology (a branch of psychology developed by Carl Jung) at Sonoma State University where I received education on dreamwork, archetypes, movement, art & other creative approaches to psychology, sand tray, MBTI, and mythology.
Certified Expressive Arts Facilitator (2014) - After painting with my godmother Chris Zydel for many years in her expressive arts studio, I completed the yearlong training to become a facilitator in this art therapy method, centered around the process of intuitive painting. It’s so fun!
Certified Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (2014) - I was part of the second cohort to study TCTSY- an evidence based modality - with Dave Emerson & Jenn Turner at Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Center, becoming the first TCTSY instructor in California in 2014. TCTSY is now being offered through the Center for Trauma & Embodiment.
RYT-200 (Registered Yoga Teacher) (2009) - I started studying yoga in 2009 and have trained in many styles with many teachers including Peggy Berg, Shy Sayar, Kiki Lovelace, Britt Fohrman & Ana Forrest. In 2018, I decided to stop teaching yoga as an extractive practice & to focus on coaching instead.
Certified Birth Doula (2009) - In 2009, I became a birth doula through Natural Resources in San Francisco, and attended about 10 births until I realized being on-call is not for me. I got deep into the birth world teaching prenatal yoga & apprenticing with Britt Fohrman. I still draw upon this foundational skillset in my somatic work.
